Aurelius Golden Barleywine Ale builds upon the promise of beauty through simplicity. Two malts and one hop combine with the mythical embrace of vanilla, maple, honey, oak and leather from aging in bourbon barrels for 12 months to produce a beer worthy of reflection and gratitude for the year that came before. “When you arise in the morning think of what a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love ...” - Marcus Aurelius

Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale and Maris Otter malts with Columbus hops.

375mL bottle, pours a clear golden, no head. Aroma is complex, with rich bourbon barrels, oak, and soft toffee notes. Flavour is sweet, with lots of toffee, bourbon, some vanilla, and woody oak. Lots of sweet toffee and sugars on the finish, with a nice lingering bourbon finish. Excellent stuff.
