Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

From a 22 oz bottle. Circa 2010. Pours a fairly clear amber with an off white head. Intriguing muted citrus aroma mingled with yeast. Very prominent toffee notes -- unusual for a tripel, but very tasty.

Smells like banana, soft wheat and a very yeasty beer. Pours cloudy white, yellow. Alright lacing, good head retention. It’s decent but not amazing. I preferred Le Freak. On tap at the Farmhouse Tap and Grill.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($6): Pours a amber orange colour with a white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, and full of delicious yeast. I think that the yeast is really the centerpoint of this beer. This is probably a little more hopped up than a Belgian example. Additionally, it doesn’t fall into all the traditional pitfalls of tripels like excessive carbonation and pointless cutting spice. Instead this is a mellow, drinkable, and highly alcoholic example pulled off right.

Draught at the brewery. Almost clear golden with medium white head. Aroma of banana, clove, cereal, citrus and some wheat? Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with notes of banana and clove. Medium bodied and light to medium carbonation. Too sweet and too much banana for my taste.
