Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

Cloudy amber beer, good white head. Dry palate, a little soft. Sweet malts, typical tripel like. A little spice. Trace amount of orange and peach fruit. Finishes dry with a little aniseed in the dry finish. Competent tripel, drinkable.

From a 1 Pt 6 Fl Oz bottle on 13/5/2012 (shared with Butz). Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head. Has a sharp fruity aroma with some orange peel and Belgian yeast. The flavour is primarily citrus fruit and some apple and pear, with some bready, yeasty and strong spicy notes. Has a quite a nice sweet sour balance. This is surprisingly subtle for something that’s 9.7%. While not my favourite style of beer, this is none the less very good stuff.

65 cl bottle @ O’Hara’s Freehouse. Rated on 24.02.2011
Aroma is fruity with soapy citrus – rather typical to a tripel. Flavour is slightly sweet with fruits and soapy citrus. A decent American tripel-clone that does not reach the top.

22 ounce bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden orange color with a nice 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of pepper, apricot, pear, banana, clove, biscuit, candi sugar, and yeast spices. Nice aromas with good balance. Taste of big pear, pepper, apricot, banana, clove, candi sugar, biscuit, spicy yeast, and some yeast tang. Lingering notes of biscuit, pear, apricot, pepper, and spicy yeast on the finish for a while. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy and slick mouthfeel. Decent balance of flavors with smooth drinking for 9.7%. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is a very solid American made Tripel. Definitely some better ones out there, but this is worth a try.

Draught at Bashamichi. Clear, golden, honey-like with lace. Fruity, yeasty, spicy nose, stewed peaches, light honey, slight after funk. Alcohol strong in the mouth, very sweet, lots of honey, a bit cloying. No hops at all, it seems. Heavy. Nice enough, with good malt flavors, but not top class.

22 oz Bottle for $7.00 at Smiley’s Beverage. Hazy orange color in my snifter. Aromas of Belgium yeast roasted malts fruits and spices. Up front is Belgian yeast. Strong amount of bread malts with banana esters making an appearance. Touch of clove. Alcohol is present but nothing to boozy. Plus it gives nice warmth as it goes down. Extremely drinkable. Great American version of the style. This is a good offering and what I want in a Tripple. WAY better for my palate then Le Freak.

Pour is a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is lots of fruity esters with some sugar and clove. Flavor is again more citrus fruit and some grassy hops. Finish has some sugar and a nice Belgian yeast. This was a good beer and would do it’s Belgian counterparts proud.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass copper coloured, nice head. Starts strong, modest alcoholic, some fruity hints of sour apple. Finish well balanced, strong, a bit woody, quite dry. Interesting beer!

Bottle @ home. Somehow I’ve missed rating a bunch of these Green Flash offerings. I guess I’ll keep an eye out for others. Cloudy, melon orange appearance with a pearl white head and some sediment. Spicy, bready, yeasty, tangerine-orange citrusy, slight herbal, ginger, tangy, slightly musty aroma. Spicy yeasty, biscuity, bitter orange, light noble hoppy, musty, mild barnyard, moderate citrusy flavor with a lightly tart, citrusy finish. A lot going on in this beer and I like it but it isn’t elite.
