Can. Aroma: banana, spicy yeast, fruit. OK. Light body. The taste is not as promising as the nose. Rather phenolic, bready, minimally hopped.

Thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty, yeasty, not too dry. Light sweetish notes. Fruity hints of apricot. Finish well balanced. Not bad.

Half-litre bottle into Franziskaner Weissbier glass at home on 4th Jan 2016: my reward for taking the dog for an hours walk and then clearing our garden of his pooh which seems to have appeared since Christmas Eve when it was last done. This beer will take me to 56 German Hefeweizen and make Saarland a bit ’bluer’ on my map of Germany as this is the 10th beer from that region I have rated. As you would expect, my glass held a murky yellow beer with a full, deep and snow white in colour foaming head: carbonation bubbles rising through the body to replenish the white blanket above. Yeasty aroma with mild hints of both vanilla and banana, not a lot, but it’s there. Flavour had some wheat, yeast and vanilla pod tastes, slight banana touch in there too. Not overly flavoursome, but refreshing and thirst quenching. Mr Average in the Weizen world is my reckoning with a score that shows my thoughts..

Getreidig-weiziges Bier. Etwas unrund und nicht zu fruchtig. Nett, leicht unrund mit neutralem und leicht herbem Nachgeschmack. Nicht zu tief. Schade.

Draught. Hazy yellowish orange colour with a mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is herbal, some wheat, mild spruce, yeast, citrus and a bit earthy notes. Flavour is wheat, citrus, herbs, mild yeast as well as some toffeeish notes. Wellbalanced.

Wässrig bananiger Antrunk. Sonst kaum aromatisch, minimale Herbe. Monoton, geringe Süße. Langweilig. 11/7/7/5/7/6

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, würzig. Geschmack hefig fruchtig, reife Bananen, leicht würzig.

Appearance is decent, aroma is a little off, and taste has some spent charcoal elements. Not overly impressed with this effort from Karlsberg. Aroma of wet paper, each of the elements is slightly off, to give this one a thumbs down.
