For the full distribution batch, Tim and Phil selected a blend of two beans: The first is a washed coffee from the Santa Petrona farm in El Salvador. The second is from the San Jeronimo Miramar farm in Guatemala and was fermented with Bavarian Wheat Yeast.
Brewed with a malt bill comprised of a bevy of European specialty malt and loads of flaked oats. With this rich stout base, the coffee melds with the caramel and chocolate malts to bring forward layers of chocolate cake and freshly brewed coffee, all wrapped up with a smooth yet boozy finish. This beer reminds us of putting chocolate sauce in your morning coffee, late night diner hangs, and early morning stout brewshifts.

1 pint can, bb 7/27/20. Black body, with a small, creamy, tan head. Aroma of espresso, sourish fruits, liquorice, dark chocolate, some soy sauce. Tastes similar, with some peppery notes. Creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes roasty, moderate sweet, a bit spicy, with coffee, sourish fruits, some soy sauce, some chocolate. Very good, while I was expecting a bit more. The coffee leads to sourish fruits and some even peppery notes that feel a bit off. Also not very complex overall. Still a nice sipper. Score: 8 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15

Coffee and roast. A little on the syrupy side for me but overall very nice. Black pour with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish - some caramel. A touch of spice. Tap at Shelter.

Can at Pien Brewpub. Black with a small tan head. A bit sweet with a lot of coffee, roasted malt and some chocolate. Tasty and pleasant.

Black with thin soapy head. Aroma has liquorice and bay leaf. Flavour is a little grassy, nutty too. Loads of bay leaf. I don't get much coffee. A bit watery too.

Can sample at a tasting at Stas' place. Black. Big coffee, slightly green, mocha, roast, some chocolate, sweet and a bit sourish, a bit of bitterness in the finish, slightly ashy, full-bodied. Very good.

Strong stout brewed with two types of coffee beans, thanks Steve for sharing. Thin, deep ruddy beige, open 'head' with some small patches in the middle; black robe with mahogany edge - but marred by something utterly bizarre: a gelatinous, beige 'ring' of what I imagine can only be proteins, had loosened from the can's bottom during pouring and plunged into the glass, only to resurface again as the glass got emptied... Never have I seen such an amount of solid material in a beer, though 'solid' probably is not the right word, as the matter immediately crumbled apart upon lightly touching it; I managed to bring myself to having a small taste of this crumbling gelatine and found that apart from a vague (and not unpleasant) breadiness, it had no outspoken flavour at all, so fortunately it cannot have had any influence on the taste of the beer. Aroma indeed very coffeeish, as in cappuccino and latte macchiato but also actual coffee powder and mocha ice cream, further impressions of black chocolate, caramel, walnut liqueur, black pipe tobacco, dry cookies, vague bourbon, nougat, old liquorice and leather. Sweet onset, pear syrup and candied cherry with very light sourish undertone, medium carbonation with very full, viscous, 'motor-oily' body; intense fondant-chocolatey and toffeeish core with pronounced roasted coffee bitterness towards the end, combining with the sweetness into a general effect of a liquid 'coffee praline', amplified by sweet and hot, rum-like alcohol, which remains in place and does not become too obnoxious, absorbed as it is by the thickness of the beer. Bittersweet, long finish, quite intense but certainly delivering its coffee promise; apart from the bizarre experience with that gelatinous matter, this was a pleasant and solid one to drink - but I would not recommend it to those with a dislike for coffee...

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a dark tan head that did the Guinness thing. Aroma of very nice coffee. Full bodied or so. Flavor is not dry. Lots of nice coffee. Burnt/toasted malt. A little heat burn. Might be a chocolate note. Or not. Heavy duty stout. Good flavor.
Lci. Ja, koffie dus.
