Coffee Stout 2020 uses coffee roasted by Dark Matter
For the full distribution batch, Tim and Phil selected a blend of two beans: The first is a washed coffee from the Santa Petrona farm in El Salvador. The second is from the San Jeronimo Miramar farm in Guatemala and was fermented with Bavarian Wheat Yeast.
Brewed with a malt bill comprised of a bevy of European specialty malt and loads of flaked oats. With this rich stout base, the coffee melds with the caramel and chocolate malts to bring forward layers of chocolate cake and freshly brewed coffee, all wrapped up with a smooth yet boozy finish. This beer reminds us of putting chocolate sauce in your morning coffee, late night diner hangs, and early morning stout brewshifts.

0,473l can at Powys place shared by me. BB 7/27/2020. black color, small coffee colored head. smells coffee, milk chocolate, lactose, bit earthy, peppery, spices, very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes of coffee, earthy, milk chocolate, light sweetness, light vanilla, marzipan, nutty, also bitter chocolate, bit fudgy. finishes lightly bitter / sweet with notes of coffee, bitter chocolate and some light vanilla notes. very nice one, lovely coffee notes, very good balance. lovely. hmm, at the bottom of the can was some very weird rubbery sludgy thing, Powys thinks its a dissvoled rubber band, removed 4 points because of that. weird 8, 4, 8, 4, 14

Thick light brown head. A bit of coffee on the nose. Creamy body, dark roasted coffee, a bit of booze, smooth, a dry finish. For a straight up coffee stout, excellent.

Can at home. Opaque jet black color with a full sizer dark brown colored head. Awesome appearance. Aroma is full of -lightly sweetish- coffee and chocolate notes. Flavor is insanely coffee and (milk) chocolate, lightly bitter, malt bitter, but sweetish a bit as well. Smooth mouthfeel, nice oily creamy texture. Might take a little getting used to, but it's definitely pretty nice.

Canned, 473 ml, shared with Miro B, Max and Tomislav. Black with brownish head. Intensive coffee, cocoa, sweetish, nice bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Pitch black pour with a thin dark tan head. Notes of dark roasted coffee, cold brewed coffee, roasted malts, smoke, ash, a bit of licorice. Pretty good stuff, really well-balanced. Extra points on the coffee and the smooth texture.

Pours black, no head. Scent is raw, green coffee. Roasty, sweet back. Taste is mildly bitter. Roasty, coffee remains 'raw and green' to me, an aspect I don't tend to like myself...

ABV: 11.5%. Dark dark black brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dusty coffee, cold coffee, strong coffee. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, coffee, dusty coffee, cold coffee, rich. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20200620]

Can at Arde's Residence, Color is very dark brown with small brown head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, some dark chocolate, sweetness, chocolate porridge and roasted malts. Very strong coffee. Too oily.
