Bottled 330ml (BZ, BB 09/2012, ABV 7.6 %)
Dark ruby-brown color, msall off-white head. Aroma is a bit harsh, sweetish with rye, caramel and molasses. Medium-bodied. Sweetish caramelly, raisiny, ryeish malty, some harsh notes. Alcoholic. Eichbaum is not known for quality, so it is not a suprise that their -ator tastes quite industrial.

33 cl bottle, BBE 09/2012
Aroma has much malt and some solvent. Flavour has bready malt and hints of solvent. Some sinol-like alcohol comes through in the finish. Some characters from english strong ales. Not my doppelbock, too much alcohol.

Wenig fruchtig, absolut vollmundig. Langer feiner Malznachgeschmack mit deutlichen Schokoladennoten. Sehr gut! 9/11/12/12/13/13

(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Dusty and sweet malty aroma with caramel and notes of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Obviously malt-accented molassy taste, but pretty one-dimensional with a touch of caramel and hints of vegetables; sweetish malty finish with traces of alcohol and metal. Rather unconvincing Doppelbock. 31.X.07

Bottled (7.6 %, from bierzwerg.de). Rubyish amber colour, mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is raisins, some spices, alcohol an quite strong on burnt malts and slight toffee as well. Flavour is wooden, alcoholic, strongly caramel malty with slight roasted notes. Some toffee and mild notes of raisins along with slight roasted notes in the aftertaste. Wellbalanced.

Bottle: Clear, chestnut-amber coloured, smaller lacy off-white head, burnt malt, raisins and cheap wine in the nose; sweet, harsh flavour, medium bodied; dryish sweet-bitter finish, combined with some traces of alcohol. Unbalanced, "cheap" Doppelbock..........
