Hoppy Golden Ale.

A well balanced, dry-hopped, golden ale. Initial bitterness from Elderado hops and a citrus finish from Columbus and Cascade. The distinct dry-hop aroma leads to a crisp dry finish.

2/6/2022. Cask at the 35th Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival. Pours clear dark straw gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, hoppy, caramel, butter, straw. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Oily, very soft carbonation. Pretty decent.

Cask in Bull & Stirrup, Chester Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. A nose of floral hops and lemongrass. Hops dominate in the mouth, with some lemon and a hint of orange. The overall effect is somewhat sharp though. Finish is dry and bitter with a hint of lemon. To me, the hoppiness makes it more like a session IPA than a golden ale. Anyway, it’s quite nice.

Bottle from Homebrew Bottle Shop, Oxton in Birkenhead. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - grassiness and light lemon. Taste - very green. Plant stalks and herbs. Palate - light bodied with a dry middle and end. Overall - a bit too dry to be worth returning for another.
