The first impression is the intensity of its aroma, with strong pervasive notes of malt. It has a distinctive head that is compact, fine and persistent. The taste is assertive and moderately effervescent, allowing the palate to discover every detail – from the perfectly balanced body to the delicately bitter note in its smooth, roasty aroma. But the most striking characteristic is its colour – undeniably amber, befitting a beer of this quality.

750 ml bottle. Reddish amber body with a diminishing off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit and moderate bitterness. Nice body. Rather sweet but quite pleasant, the best from this brewery so far.

Flaske 0,75l.

Bottle, 75cl. Lightly unclear body, amber in color and with a finger-thick off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel, some dried fruits and a bit too evident alcohol. Sweet, malty and caramel-ish flavor with raisins, some generic fruityness. Medium to full body, smooth, but a bit flat. Malty and fruity finish. A bit boring aroma, but quite flavorful. Could easily drink more of this, but I now of several bock’s I’d rather have. 111123

Hazy amber with off white head - malt in the aroma with some hints of caramel - taste is of some caramel malt, but it is thin, and has some stale thing going on in the back - thin and nothing special

750ml compact bottle carried back home from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo and shared at a drinking session. Firm off-white head, slowly diminishing. Solid lacing. Unclear amber coloured body. Plain malty aroma. Semi-sweet caramel malts in flavour added by herbs, minerals and dried fruits. Medium bodied. Splendid as an aperitif (shared with Elsa & Finn, Skibotn 17.09.2011).
