Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Black with a light brown head. Great roasty aroma full of dark chocolate, a bit of dark f ruits, some espresso, some whiskey and vanilla. Sweet flavor with lots of dark chocolate, vanilla, plum notes, whiskey, a bit of warm alcohol and a bit of roasty bitterness. Full-bodied. Great.

Dark opaque brown color, small beige head. Intensive aroma of whiskey, roasted malts and vanilla. Full bodied. Quite sweet. Lots of vanilla, toasted flavors, chocolate and milky lactose, bourbon too. Warming finish. Lingering burned and milky aftertaste. Pleasant.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Pours a deep brown black appearance with a thin dark brown head. Whiskey, a bit smoky, almost peaty, vanilla, dark chocolate, nice aroma. Kind of smoked herbal, dark chocolate, caramel, burnt, light anise flavor. Pretty fucken cool beer.

Shared from small 12oz bottle. Poured a motor-oil black color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some seriously roasted malts, coffee touch there. Flavor was really sweet sugary dried fruits, some oak and vanilla there. Bitter chocolate. Way too much booze noticeable for it to be enjoyable for me.

Bottle. It pours a dark brown to black body and a minimal sized light tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, molasses, alcohol, booze and a touch of chocolate and dark dried fruits. Quite complex flavor with the booze playing a leading role. Lots of molasses, coffee and chocolate blending in. Warming and full-bodied, with very soft carbonation. Lasting finish with lots of flavor. A damn pleasant and tasteful beer, well suited for sharing with a good friend. 130504

Bottle at a ChrisO Tasting - London. Pours oily black with a foamy beige head. Big and boozy aroma, lots of dark chocolate, peat, some very dark fruits. Hugely sweet flavor with loads of raisins, dark chocolate, hard alcohol, charred wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some boozy sting, rich ripe and dark fruits, light earthy bitterness, peat. Lasting flavor and deeply sweet, with well-ripened fruits and lots of dark chocolate notes. Great stuff.
