The Yeast Series will be similar to the Single Hop Series. They are identical beers – only difference is the yeast series is that the beers will be fermented with different yeast strains.
It will be a ‘strong pale ale’ – 8%, pretty well hopped but not oven the top. Malt, hops, water are identical. Only difference is the yeast.

Bottle 33cl. @ DOE Tasting, Fox & Hounds, Holstebro.Clear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, citrus - orange, moderate to light light heavy yeasty, overripped fruit, fruity. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100831]

Bottle. Pours with a murky golden body and a large, off-white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, orange rind, fruit esters, pine and toffee. Taste is caramel, toffee, pine, and a decent amount of bitterness. Slightly husky. Very lively bubbles, a bit of alcohol. Good beer overall, a bit more enjoyable than the Lager because the body seems a bit fuller and there are some nice esters/fruit notes to counter balance the bitterness.

On tap at KØ-10. An almost clear beer, golden in color and topped by a small off-white head soon disappearing. It’s hoppy on the nose, tropical fruits do a lot of the work, some pale malts and alchol blends in. The flavor has tropical fruits and sweet malts, pine cones and a fine bitterness too. Full body. Bitter finish with sweetness. A bit fruitier than the lager, else much the same. 100506

(Draught at Mikkeller Bar) Poured reddish brown and cloudy. Head was medium sized, long lasting and white. Aroma contained fruitiness and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, hops, fruitiness, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. No clear yeast flavour which is, in my understanding, typical to US Ale yeast.

Flaske 0,33l delt med Rune 26 Mai 10. Vanvittig skumdannelse. Kremaktig skum som fester seg til glasset.Mørk gylden på farge. Aromaen er preget av sitrus. Veldig innbydende. Smaken er litt anonym. Litt frukt og bær. Svakt syrlig ettersmak.

Sampled @ Mikkeller bar. Dark golden body with a diminishing off-white head. Aroma is citric fruity with malt and caramel. Flavor is malt, some caramel citric fruity and quite bitter. Refreshing and balanced, probably the one from the yeast sample with the best balance. Still too much hops and flavors to really be able to present the whole specter of nuances in the yeast profiles.

Draughtt at Churchkey. Bright golden color, medium white head, great lacing. Aroma of white pepper and malt. Taste is bitter throughout with some pepper. Very similar to the lager version. Seems rather pointless to vary the yeast, but change the base beers, and to include so much hops and alcohol, overwhelming the yeast. More gimmick than taste.
