Had this beer at Alvinne Craft Beer Festival 2011. Very bright color. Smell and taste a little too sweet for an IPA. Smell almost fruity.

Angenehmer Hopfengeschmack, der nur wenig trocken und gelungen weich ist. Fruchtig, blumig, dezent süß. Ausgewogen, sp auch süffig. Zum Ende etwas bitterer, insgesamt aber schwach. Herbes, fruchtiges Finish. Leicht trinkbares und erfrischendes Bier. 12/12/11/12//12

Medium white head. Slightly hazy yellow body. Floral tropical fruit and chalk aroma with cat’s pee and earth notes. (Simcoe?) Something sweet and musty in this aroma, too. Dry-sweet tropical fruit and strawberry taste with resiny citric notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, chalky mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish floral tropical fruit aftertaste with wooden resiny notes. Quite nice, but a bit sweet and musty. Not very fresh. (0.4l draft at Olympen, Oslo.)

On tap. Pours a hazy deep golden with an off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Lightly citrusy aroma. Medium body, lightly sweet fruit, some astringent phenols and a dry and bitter finish. 281110

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of citrus fruits, petroleum, and pine needles. The flavor is sweet with notes of pine needles, petrolium, and hops, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, courtesy of Alex - grazie, professore! A very nice example of the style, with a citrus and pine floral aroma and a balanced bitterness throughout. Good one!

(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 7 Aug 2010) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, pineapple, apricots and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, grass and apriocts. Solid citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Tasty and refreshing, very nice. (This is a bit confusing, according to the pump clip it was called "Back to Basics West Coast IPA" and here I find one "Back to Basics IPA" and one "West Coast IPA". ?? I suppose this is the one, since there are a lot of ratings from the White Horse here, but if someone knows with some kind of certainty that it’s the other one, please let me know.)
