Clear golden color, small white head. Sweetish malty aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Clean sweet maltyness, grassy hoppyness. Very standard German helles. In good and in bad.

A golden beer, a head is big and blond. Aroma has pure maltyness and some grass. Simple. Taste has maltyness and sweetness of honey. Too sweet because lack of bitterness. Medium bodied. Easy beer to drink but overally, too sweet.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, from Alko, 20170607) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, grassy and bitter. A surprisingly nice but also too sweet brew.

Aroma and flavor dominated by hay and citrus. Body was gold with foamy white head. Palate was bubbly and soft. Run of the mill, but not a bad mill.

June 2010: The 500ml brown bottles are now available in UK Aldi stores at just over £1.00 per bottle! This one was poured into my Veltins stemmed tulip (three times). Pale gold, paler than your average pilsner/export/dort, this was clean, clear and sparkling. The snow white head came and went a bit too fast which was a pity because its appearance score has to drop because of that. Cereal aroma, not much, but some. Typical lager/export taste/flavour, meaning a refreshing blend of water with a few hops and malted grains thrown together with a heavy yeast that sinks to the bottom removing most of the flavours as it goes! I’m being unfair, this is a fine example of the style and well worth the few pence I paid for it.
