Bottle: Really deep amber coloured, or as the germans say: SCHWARZ, presumably clear with a small off-white foamy layer, moderate sweetish toasty-ashy nose completed by a tinge of bitter chocolate; moderate ( to solid) sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft; ashy finish with some chocolatey/caramelly bitterness. Astonishingly good for a beer from the crappy InBev company…

Bottle. A clear-looking dark brown beer with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is dusty and roasted, with some notes of chocolate. Smooth on the palate, medium bodied and with flavors of wet cardboard, coffee and roasted malts. Roasted finish with some chocolate. A boring schwarzbier indeed. Not undrinkable, but boring. 120218

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a big beige and loose foamy head. Roasty malt-character, slightly ashy with notes of liquorice, coffee and a shy metallic touch. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Dry roasty malty taste with burnt notes, liquorice and a touch of coffee; dry and roasty bitter finish with mildly herbal hoppy notes and a shy malty sweetness. Okay but not overly impressive. 06.XII.11
