The Axolotl is named after the Aztec god Xolotl, worshipped as the god of fire and lightning. They mixed cocoa with chillis to make a bitter frothy beverage called Xocolatl, which over time became modern day Chocolate. Inspired by this we've infused a rich porter with real South American sourced cacao, smoked Mexican chillis and a touch of vanilla. There's a deep chocolate and brandy-esque quality from the cacao oils, which cause the head to rapidly dissipate, with a mild lingering heat, bitterness and smokiness from the chipotles.
