Light gold in colour, bursting with citrus and tropical hop flavours and sensationally refreshing. The original UK Citra.
In 2009 on his annual hop sourcing visit to the USA, Oakham's Brewing Director John Bryan discovered an exceptional new hop variety - Citra. He rushed it to the UK, ensuring that Oakham Ales were the first UK brewery to brew a beer with 100% Citra hops and maintaining Oakham's reputation for pioneering innovation.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with little head. Smell is lots of resin and a little fruit. Taste is resin and grapefruit. Would expect more lemon from a citra single hop, and the resin is a bit much for me.

Samean kullankeltainen olut niukalla, mutta pitsiä jättävällä valkoisella vaahdolla. Tuoksu erittäin miellyttävä, greippinen ja hedelmäinen. Suorastaan houkuttelee maistamaan olutta. Maku ei sitten ihan pysty vastaamaan heitettyyn haasteeseen. Maku greippinen ja sitrusmainen ja jälkipuraisussa paljon greippistä katkeruutta. Tämä menee jo oman maun yli, eikä oikein toimi belgifanille ihan toivotulla tavalla.

500 ml bottle, bb 30 Sep 16. Courtesy of Werckmeister, thanks!
Amber, clear body, with a small, fluffy, off-white head.
Aroma of citrus, grass, orange, passion fruit, some onion, candy.
Tastes of citrus, grapefruit, pine, grass, some tropical fruits, candy.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium bitter, medium dry, lingering piney, zesty, citric, a bit herbal.
Very nice. Easy and refreshing, with lots of citric notes and a lovely pine flash in the finish. The nose has some herbal/onion notes I don’t like very much, while it is still good. Maybe not the freshest bottle. Taste is cleaner, a bit lighter though, but very good for the ABV. Enjoyable stuff overall.
