Corked bottle. Rosé color. Cherry, vanilla, oak and marzipan in the aroma. Sweetish sour flavor. Cherry, oqak. vanilla, lemon and marzipan. Thinnish, but pleasant, well rounded and very drinkable.

Bottle @ home via trade and rotebox. Pours a bit hazy reddish orange appearance with a pretty minimal tan head. Aroma has some oak, vanilla, sour cherries, and a bit of acetic acid. A little bit of raspberries as well. Body is a bit thin. Moderately sour. Kind of tastes like cherry Gushers chewy candies. The cherry flavor isn’t as good as the Monomoy Kriek, but at least, there is some carbonation. That being said, the carbonation is pretty thin. Some caramel, vanilla, and dark fruit flavors as well. Kind of a fun beer but could still use a bit more carbonation.

Bottle, 75 cl corked. It’s a flat, unclear beer, golden-orange in color, no head. There’s a light funk on the nose, with cherry, nail polish remover and a cardamom like spice touch. Vinegar, raisins, a generic fruityness, some sweetness, cherry and a hint of nail polish remover. Dry and acidic on the palate. Long finish. An interesting and complex beer, but there’s too much nail polish remover for it to be really nice. 130607

Where the Wild Beers Are 2012. Very low carbonation, nearly still. It does have good cherry aroma and flavor, and it is lightly sour.

2012 or 2011 version - whatever the most recent version was that I bought at the beginning of this year, I think it was 2012, so I’ll stick with that. Well, this one opened... flat. I mean, absolutely no pop on the cork, no fizz sound, nothing.

Poured... flat. Uh, oh. Well, aroma was nice, a touch tart dark cherries, with a slightly sweet and sour flavor throughout, like a sweet cherry with a touch of vinegar. While it didn’t seem to be a hit with the rest of the people around me, I enjoyed it, to a point. The carbonation was an unfortunate downside to this particular brew, especially how expensive the brew was to purchase.

I’d get another one if it weren’t so darn expensive to buy.

750 ml bottle. Cellared since Sept 2011. Paid $16.99 @Table and Vine. Looks like a rose colored wine in my snifter. Fast dissipating head. Nose of wood, barnyard funk, and a light level of acidity. Taste much the same as the aroma lead by the tart cherries, with a sweetness reminds me of maraschino cherries. Clean finish. Funk aftertaste with weak oak as well. Light mouthfeel. Sourheads will like this one but… for the price I would reach for others first.
