Der Kaiser des Göppinger Maientags stellt sich als kampfeslustiger Löwe dar, der Schaum wie die mächtige Mähne, die Farbe wie das dichte Fell wartet er jedes Jahr, bis er endlich freigelassen wird.

Bottle from Quack-Duck, thanks! Light amber color. Malty bready aroma and flavor. The slightest hint of cinnamon. Almost full bodied. Fluid bread, this märzen!

*Old rating, best before 30. Jul. 10. Fresh malty, not too deep. Slightly malty with hints of caramel. Not too bitter in the aftertaste, hints of sweetness, slightly neutral bitter. Nice Festbier.

Vielen Dank an kevni2008! Das Bier hat eine klare orangegoldene Farbe und eine mittelgroße gelbliche Schaumkrone. Geruch ist sehr malzig, gering süß, Getreide, wenig hopfig. Geschmack süß malzig, wenig Getreide, leicht würzig hopfig, ziemlich eintönig und nichts besonderes.

An golden beer with an orange head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with light touches of caramel.

Bottle looks really good, as well as the beer in the glass. Zippy, ncie head. Starts mild, fine grasy-spicy notes, a bit wheaty. Finish well balanced, with some hoppy-dry notes in the background. Very nice!

(bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, deep golden colour with a mid-sized and minimally off-white foamy head. Slightly bready malty aroma with shy herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly papery and sugary malty taste with light bready notes; sweet malt-accented finish with a faint hops profile leaving out almost any bitterness. 13.IX.10

Bottle: Golden with a pinkish (!) sheen, quickly collapsing off-white head; light traces of vegetables in the metallic-grainy nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, scratchy MF; sweetish grainy finish with a delicate bitter aftertaste. Not good.....
