Bottle at Caspar’s Running Toilet Tasting. Pours rich, amber-red with a small, white head. Dark fruits, caramel and mild oxidation in the aroma. Great flavor, fairly mellow but with some kick at the edges. Notes of cake, rich caramel, toasty sugar, leather, and fig. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, dark sugars, caramel, leather, dark fruits. Lovely beer. The age has done it well. (4.3)
Had another bottle that was shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. The beer is still damn good. Solid. (4.2)

Bottle from my ever expanding collection of Fullers vintages. An amber coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Aroma of dark fruit, sherry and malt. Tastes of caramel, spice, sweet, port like, slightly hoppy. Nice complexity. Jolly good stuff.

Bottle that Peter Fowler, Shoulder of Mutton kindly shared at tasting at his pub 28.04.11 Pours reddy amber, looks good. Touch of tobacco on nose along with some dried citrus and a dab of spice. Tasty beer really full bodied, however possibbly a bit too much toffee for me, though there is some vanilla and a little nuttiness in there. Extremely likeable but not a patch on the 1999 that we also tried. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-brown coloured, lots of floaties visible; lacy, but quickly collapsing beige head; sweet raisins, marzipan and leather in the nose, robust hops included; very solid bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied, oily MF; leather and sweet caramel and portwine in the complex sweet and hoppy finish. Extremely well balanced, well rounded moreish stuff........

(bottle, 55cl) Hazy, chestnut-brown coloured hue with lots of floaties and a short diminishing beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty, slightly vinous fruity aroma with notes of caramel, liquorce, tobacco, sweat and a bit brandy-like alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a very soft carbonation and a slightly viscid mouthfeel. Creamy toasty malty, date- and fig-fruity taste with caramel, liquorice, resin and a tinge of marzipan; almost endlessly lasting, slightly vinous, subtle fruity and toasty finish. Highly elaborated stuff. 24.III.10

Small offwhite head. Hazy amber body. Caramelly (very!) musty earthy aroma with old books notes. Dry-sweetish wooden caramelly taste with old books and linoleum notes. Mild rounded, smooth mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dry wooden old blanket and paper aftertaste with sugary sherry mint notes. Some sharpish hops in aftertaste. Absolutely outstanding! (0.5l bottle, shared by KnutAlbert.)
