Our Mastrobator is dark ruby, almost black, with a long-lasting foam and a spicy-chocolate scent. On the tongue it is very full-bodied and yet fresh, with a balanced caramel taste. In the end it leaves a strong, softly rounded, recent impression with a light and fine bitterness. Main fermentation in open fermentation tanks, maturation in horizontal storage tanks.

Bottle, thanks Pivnizub. Cherrywine and wood aroma. Cloudy red, brown head. Portlike fruityness, dark chocolate, wood and light barn notes. Dry, full body, mellow carbonation. delicate, powerfull and moreish.

(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, dark brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Slightly sugary toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel/Bavarian Blockmalz-bonbons, accompanied by shy herbal spices and notes of alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a very calm, even a bit flat carbonation. Robust toasty malty taste with caramel and notes of molasses; sweetish and slightly toasty and faint hop bitter finish with caramel and hints of alcohol in the aftertaste. Not overly convincing Doppelbock, at least by Camba Bavaria Standards. 29.IX.10

Bügelverschlußflasche: Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, rather quickly collapsing tanned head; toasty and fruity nose, caramel included, with a distinctive tinge of alcohol; solid sweet flavour, medium bodied; sweet d fruity (dry berries) and caramelly finish with a light bitterness in the aftertaste. Not very convincing.....

Bottled (thanks TimoA!). Reddish/rubyish amber colour, small head. Aroma is caramel malts, some alcohol and mild notes of dark frutis and some mild stuff. Flavour is dark dry fruits, some caramel and some nice stuff. Balanced, but a bit sweet.
