Keg at Attic Barrel Store. Aroma is somewhat or very low key. Boozy. And sweet. Dark and glossy. Foamy tan head recedes to the rim. Medium-heavy bitter. Burnt malt. Coffee. Booze. Underlying creamy sweetness l. Initially did get dry pretzel but that then dropped out of sight. Medium bodied. Oily. Flat-average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Overly polite Impy.

Draft at The Barrel Store, Hockley, Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a thin broken off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, molasses, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a rich smooth, roasty, herbal, big liqourice, light chocolate, coffee palate. Over medium bodied with flat carbonation. Nice but a bit heavy on the liqourice.

Keg at the Attic taproom Stirchley, 18/02/23. Black with a tan cap that clears to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, spice, molasses, chocolate shavings. Taste comprises dried fruits, chocolate melt, hint of liquorice, spice, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Okay sipper but lacks depth for the hefty ABV.
