Pours with a little head that dies quick. Light brown cloudy colour. Smells like yeast, wheat. Taste has yeast and a cloying sourness that gathers in the back of your throat. Bottle from a giftpack. Of all the things for the lcbo to import from Germany....

Had this as Höss Weisser Hirsch Allgäuer Weizen. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine yeasty, modest fruity like apple. Some sourish notes, not too much. Finish well balanced, a bit too yeasty, but still good. Okay.

(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20111125) The beer poured pale golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had clove and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, mild tartness, clove, banana, grain and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. Below average hefeweizen but not of the worst kind.

Purchased in one of those mixed 4-pack at the LCBO. Too much carbonation out of the bottle... overflows right away. Pours a hazy golden-beige colour with a fizzy head that disappears quickly and not much lace is left. Wheat nose with notes of lemon and bread. Thin-mouthfeel, but with a little stick and kind of oily. Taste is pretty mild with some wheat and honey, but not much else. Maybe hints of orange zest, but this one is not a hit with me.

A hazed blonde weizen with a thick white head. In aroma, light faint bananas, cloves, with light lemony notes. In mouth, a smooth fruity ester, yeasty, with light bananas, classic but rather light bodied. BB 30-05-11, LCBO. Tasted on April 23, 2011.

Bottled. Hazy yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized foamy white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is wheat, mild banana, some yeast as well as fruityness. Flavour is quite similar with a bunch of toffeeish notes as well.

This hefe poured a light yellow colour, lightly cloudy with a bright white foamy head. Scents include corn, cloves, weiners and bread/dough. First sip was slightly sharp with the carbonation with a watery mouthfeel. Not very much substanance. Flavours of spices, corn and yeast most prodominant. Finish is clove with a hint of butter popcorn.
