Biggish white head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Chalky apple aroma with yoghurt notes. Dry chalky wheaty citric taste with fruity banana-like notes. Mid-bodied. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Dryish citric wheaty aftertaste with herbal notes and a faint acidic tinge. Very mild and low on taste, but what’s there is quite good. Could use more character, though. (0.5l bottle, Skjold Burne, Gilleleje.)

500ml rubber stopper corked bottle. Grey-orange color, murky. The aroma is a little off, I detect an odd sorghum-adjuncty weirdness. Undercarbonated as well, so this might just be an old bottle. The hefe-yeast barely saves this one from drain pour. I’d certainly give it a try in Sonthofen, but this bottle was a disappointment.

Date code 1657, heheh. Nice bottle and label. Difficult to find this beer by brewer on the Oko-Bier label. Couldn’t really tell who brewed it from the old euro writng on the bottle label. But on the back it said ‘hoss’ under a magnifying glass. Flip top farmer +16 oz half liter bottle. Life-size swirling dirty water pour from gunk on bottom of bottle. Does have that ol’ banana aroma and spices in there but its not overwhelming. Not a whole lotta carbonation in this brew. Rather flat hefe experience. No artificial carbonation was used in this beer. To a certain extent bland, but continues its banana flavor into the session. Not bitter and lacks a certain forward character. Cannot detect much alky in there. Seems much less than +5%. Overall a pleasant monotonous beer experience without bells and whistles. For some reason, expected more. Seems old world to me. S6L4F2TO
