12 oz can from Total Wine & More, Laguna Hills, California. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass on 12th Jan 2018. Golden pour, wispy white head. Light citrus esters in the nose, taste more grainy/rice like in nature and leaning towards sweetness rather than bitterness.

From Aug 2007

I got this in a mixed 6Pack at Wilbur's in Ft Collins.

Pours from 12oz bottle(bottled last week in May 2007) a clear light gold with a large head of foam that shrinks to a solid layer and it has lots of lacing.

The smell is of caramel malt and slight citrus.

The taste has a strong sweetish malt presence on my first sip followed by some citrus hop bitterness and a slight sourness. Further sips in and the flavours are not meshing very well together at all and it leaves me wondering whether I'll be able to finish this bottle or not. The best word I can think of for putting the flavour of this Ale in the shortest term possible is....harsh. I favour it not and I won't buy it again.

Apparently this used to be regularly distributed in Japan. Bready fruity aroma on a bright gold body. Smells like a golden ale, it’s got a very dry body and fruity (peach) and soda bread flavor. It’s ok.

On tap at Rattle N Hum, July 2012. Clear golden with a medium white head. Nothing to write home about. Some tutti-frutti, spices and malt. Short aftertaste. Very easy to drink.

Draft, served in Flute. Light hazy, yellow. Mild lace, down the glass. High carbonation. Nose of malt and rice. Interesting flavor and totally unique. Pale malt, bready dough and the grainy rice gives it a sake type feel. It’s not a complex brew, very simple. However, that is what I like about it. Super easy to drink.

I was intrigued by the idea of this one but it just did not end up working for me. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a slightly hazy yellow-golden color with a large soapy white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dryish, a touch nutty and had a cooked rice element followed by faint fruity hops. The flavor was dryish yet tangy with moderate cooked rice, sake and bread notes. Medium finish and body. Disappointing.
