Bügelverschlußflasche (333ml, purchased at the Brauerei): Deep amber to black coloured, quickly vanishing off-white head; sweet caramelly and dark-malty nose with distinctive fruity-wheaty traces; moderate sweet flavour, medium bodied; fruity (bananas), caramelly and wheaty finish, followed by a metallic tinge in the aftertaste. Not really convincing..........

33 cL bottle, trade with Koelschtrinker and DerDobbelbock. Pours dark brown with a fully diminished off-white head. Light fruity, dried and malty towards roasted. Flavour is almost wineous, roasted malt with a smoothness of chocolate. Light fruity and alcohol flavour/feel into the finish.7-3-7-4-14=3.5
33 cL bottle, trade with DerDobbelbock. Pours hazy brown and with a lacing white head. Caramel malt aroma. Flavour is sweet and slight yeasty with a subdued spice note and mild bitterness. Medium dry finish6-3-6-3-11=2.9 (clearly doesn’t cellar well).

(33cl swing top bottle, courtesy of Koelschtrinker) Unclear, murky brown colour with a short off-white layer. Sweet, almost vinous and slightly alcoholic nose with a distinctive wheat character and notes of banana. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a very soft carbonation for a wheat beer. Wheaty and banana-fruity taste with traces of caramel; sweetish and minimal sour fruity finish with almost tart phenolic spices at the very end. Okay (19.03.08).
