Smooth mild soft beginning. Easy to drink, slightly grainy with a soft mild finish. Grain there, chocolate with a fruity mild malty finish. Smooth, sessionable soft, not too deep. --- Beer merged from original tick of Stout / 1984 on 31 Mar 2024 at 20:58 - Score: 5. Original review text: Smooth mild soft beginning. Armenian (!) oatmeal stout of session strength, from a bottle bought at Beerdome; I had no idea Armenia already had a craft beer movement (I only had industrial pale lager from that country so far), but then I guess I should not be surprised, given the huge global dynamics playing in the postmodern beer world. Quite thick, very moussey, non-lacing, pale brownish beige, regular, slowly breaking and eventually all but disappearing head on a black beer with glowing copper red edges. Aroma of toffee, liquorice, burnt oatmeal porridge, hard caramel, coffee powder, scorched wood, dried blueberries, elderberries even, chewing tobacco, old hazelnuts, salmiak, bayleaf, wet leather. Sweetish onset but cleanly and restrainedly so, some prune, elderberry and blackcurrant fruitiness, light umami (black olive) continuing over a medium carbonated, smooth, rounded core, quite 'full' in relation to ABV with dry-caramelly and toasted-bready core, starting off bitter with a sweetish edge but quickly becoming full-fledged roasted bitter, chicory- and coffee-like, with a touch of liquorice, a whiff of bayleaf and a dash of 'drop'. Seriously hopped too, with spicy, leathery, tonic water-ish bitterness working through even longer than the roasted bitterness. Feels 'warming' for some reason and in spite of its low ABV but the alcohol remains hidden; spicy, dry-caramelly, roasty and nutty flavours all complement each other and form a well-constructed unit in the end. Lovely dry and / or oatmeal stout, oldskool enough for an old stout drinker like myself and technically very well done. A pleasant introduction to Armenia's doubtlessly very young craft beer scene.

Röstiger, leicht schokoladiger Beginn. Milde Herbe, etwas trocken, eine leichte Süße bleibt aber konstant. Süffig, langer malziger Abgang, gefällt. 10/8/9/9/8/9
