The Long Tom Pass was named after two of the Boers Creusot cannons which were set up in 1900 below the Devils Knuckles and used in a shoot-out with the advancing English regiment of General Buller during the Anglo-Boer war. Travelers can see some of the craters, made by the cannon balls fired from these famous big guns and fox holes dug by the Boers, still present on the Pass.

Dunkel is a slow-conditioned, exceptionally well-balanced beer with strong malty flavour derived from Chocolate wheat malt, with Crystal and Saaz hops providing an alluring aroma.

0,34l bottle bought from the brewery at Kruger National Park. brown color, small off white / yellowish head. Smells toffee, earthy, spices, light tobacco, light chocolate notes. Very nice smell. Medium body, soft carbonation. Tastes toffee, tobacco, light molasses, earthy, bit peppery, bit nutty, hazelnuts, some caramel. Finishes rather balanced with light roasty notes and a tad of sweetness and notes of toffee, earthy and nutty notes. Very good one, great balance, great style example
