500ml bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours dark orange with a nice smooth foamy head. Taste is fruity and sweet with notes of malts and hops. Bitter, fruity and sticky finish. Alcohol warms nicely. Quite nice, almost barley wine like IIPA.

Malzig-hefiger Geruch. /9/9/9//9

500ml Bottle (O’Connor’s, Uppsala) - Amber with a foamy head. Fruity aroma with marzipan, berries and hops. Tangy, fruity and hoppy taste with notes of pine, dried fruit and caramel. Not bad, although it would’ve perhaps been better when it was more fresh.

Cloudy brown beer, thickish tan head. Soft to dry palate - frothy and creamy in the mouth. Some malt and a quite a bit of hop but they are reasonably well behaved. A spicy finish with some aniseed. Serviceable IPA.

Bottle, batch 402 (1.12.2008), courtesy of fiulijn, huge thanks Alex! Darker misty amber-red, big thick persistent off white head. Sweet malty hoppy-fruity and dusty peachy nose. The same is in the taste, sweet fruity peachy maltiness covering up the apparently huge IBU (which isn’t felt). Some freshness pops up from behind the sweetness. An interesting beer but hardly a double IPA in my book, taste wise at least.

Pours a reddish amber with white head. Nose of floral hops, citrus and malts. Taste of citrus, hops and lovely malt balance. Nicely balanced double IPA.

500ml bottle - Pours amber-orange with a big, fluffy, lasting, off-white head. Grapefruit hops dominate the aroma. The flavor is of course heavily hopped and has a solid malt back drop to it. The bitterness lingers in the finish. It’s not as crisp as I’d like, but is overall a good brew.

A reddish pinkish amber IPA with a thick off white head. In aroma, a pleasant mix of hops, jasmin, flowers, pinhey and lightly meaty. In mouth, a good malt base with loads of British hops, herbal and fragrant, bitter and oily, light jasmine in finale. Rich and Bold. Bottle at Novare Res, April 2nd, 2010, 15.50$.

Nice rich copper coloured body with orange highlights and a thick tan head. Aroma of nice potent hops, caramel, apricots, alcohol and a good dose of malt. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavours throughout of pine and citrus with a large malt backbone, but not overly done - just a bit on the double side. Aftertaste is very bitter from the hops, and very strong from the alcohol and deep bitter flavours. Overall, a good double IPA - not too strong, and still showing a good balance between hop and malt. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York on 27-November-2009, sampled at home in Washington during Snowmageddon #2 on 05-February-2010.

Pours cloudy light brown color with off white head. Strange color for a DIPA. Aroma is mostly caramel malts and bread dough. I’m not getting much in the way of hops in the aroma. Mild hop flavor with some sweet caramel malts, bread and a touch of roastiness. Medium body with mild carbonation. An interesting take on a DIPA.
