pours brownish/orange, very thick lasting off white head. Aroma is malty, definite interesting twist with the fresh hops/citrus, sweetness, and caramel notes.Flavor, floral hops adding a slight citrus/lemon palate. Thick mouthfeel, some floating yeast, caramel malts with a sweet sugary palate. Literally blown away by the Japanese twist using the hops for this one. Smooth, drinks easy, the right amount of hops and balance with the malts.

Bottle. Dark golden color, nice loooking white head. The beer has a fairly sweet aroma, pineapple, citrus and caramel is what I most think of. Pleasant and inviting. Bitterness is there, but it is not extreme in any way. The beer feels full-bodied and with a great body. After-taste remains for a while. Easy to drink. In all honesty, I thought Nøgne Ø Dobbel IPA would be more bitter. Good stuff!

Courtesy of fishingnet. Thanks again Ben! It pours clear orange – copper with tan head. The aroma is roasty malts, pine, crystal malts and grassiness. The taste is nice with thick malt sweetness moving into pine hop flavor, toffee and then into pine and grassy hop resiny bitterness. Plenty of malts going on here to add body and sweetness to the hop bill. It ends with some tasty pine hop bitterness and persistent sweet maltiness.

Bottle. Disappointing DIPA because of its muted hop presence. Medium to deep amber hazy body. Off white, diminishing head. Moderately malty aroma of caramel, earthy grain. Just a hint of floral hops along with a slight note of wood. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body with an interesting fizzy, prickly carbonation. Smooth texture. Muddled and somewhat unclean, this tasted more like a English pale ale than a DIPA. Still tasty.

Pours deep copper/amber into a shaker. Off-white medium head recedes to skim surface. Orange and pine aromas. Crisp and well-balanced with upfront pine and caramel followed by a lasting grapefruit resin finish.

Sample at Neil’s HSC initation. This beer is a hazy copper color with a thick and foamy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of grapefruit and hops plus some sweet malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter resiny hops character and flavors of citrus, malt and nuts. The finish is citrusy hops that lingers awhile. Pretty good overall.
