Double Imperial Stout from Raasted Bryghus

Black with a small off-white head. Intense aroma with citrus and pine hops, some licorice and burnt malt and some alcohol. Flavour is dominated by the hops with burnt malt, sweetness and some alcohol. Aftertaste is deliciously hoppy.

Bottle @ Aarhus beerfestival 2008. Dark color. Dark chocolat aroma, bit coffee, roasted malt. Very nicely balanced taste. Slight alcoholic, but the chocolaty malts dominate the lingering palate. Delicious.

Draught (Pikkulintu, Helsinki)- Jet black in colour with a tan head. Roasted yet hoppy aroma with a bit of coffee. The taste is rich and roasted with some coffee, chocollate and a hint of grapefruit thrown in. Easy to drink but it still tastes its strength. Not bad but I do not like this trend to add double in front of everything!

Black with medium brown head. Sweet aroma with notes of roasted malt, coffee, caramel, chocolate and Hops. Flavor likewise with loads of hops and a solid bitter end. Good stuff!

Sample at Aarhus beerfestival. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich with bitter chocolate and coffee.

Bottle at Århus festival. Pitch black with a nice & creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts & hops. Smooth, oily & quite burnt malty note. Filling body. Just another great Raasted product!

(Draught at Pikkulintu on 2008-04-22) Black. Brown head. Hops and lots of roasted malts in nose. Plenty of fruity hops and roasted malts in taste. Some liquorice and nuts. Burn coffee. Bitter chocolate in aftertaste. Sweet notes when the beer is warmer. Nice.

Draught. Close to pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, hops, licorice and quite much alcohol. Flavour is very much the same in a quite nice balance, but everything is brought to the extremes, so it probably would need a bit more aging to be better balanced.

Draught@HBF2008
Pitch black color, small expresso head. Rich, coffeish, sweet with notes of licorice - aroma. Full-bodied. Warming alcohol, licorice, black tyres and black coffee. Full and intensive brew, some similarities to Dark Horizon.
