Bottled at RBESG. Very black with dense beige head. Oaky licorice and vanilla aroma. Sweet and full bodied. Full flavoured with dense bready malt and big amounts of salty licorice. Slightly raw and immature, some additional aging would do it well, but already at this point it is a tasty, potent imperial stout.

Corked bottle. Black color; creamy beige head. It has some aroma of roasted malt and vanilla, quite nice. It has a medium body strength, an acceptable mix of flavors (dark caramel, roasted malt, coffee, liquorice), complemented by the vanilla touch. The bitterness is ordinary. The final is probably the least interesting factor in this beer, missing structure and complexity. I can’t say that it’s bad, but it seems another confused attempt to hit the world current trend.

Bottle @ thewolf-and-his-flock-of-sheep tasting session. Brewers reserve 2006, blablabla. Although the name is heavily overdone, the beer itself is quite good. Aroma of hop, coffee, whisky, oak, chocolat, malt. Aged taste, quite sweet, very alcoholic though.

(Hand bottle 100 cl) Courtesy of Sahlholdt. Cloudy, opaque black with a basically absent head. Very vinous and alcoholic aroma. Pleasant and smooth mouthfeel, a little low in carbonation. Slightly tart, fruity notes and some malt bitterness before a very warming almost Slivovitz-like alcohol burn in the finish. Very interesting. This really shows what brewmaster Mike Murphy is capable of when let a little loose. Good going. 070907

Sample at the brewery: a bit too cold. Full bodied chocolate and mild liqourice flavour. Quite warming alcohol finish. Extremely smooth brew. 4.1
