Bottle from Tbone_. Abbey ale? Are you kidding? A vague attempt to brew something in a Belgian style. Light amber color. Cinnamon and raspberry in the grainy aroma. Sweet flavor, grainy and perfumed, with raspberry-flavored bubblegum and cinnamon. Interesting but not good.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Sweetish, lightly perfumy nose. Medium body with sweetish, fruity accents. Almost no bitterness. Rather nice but not very Belgian in style. 120108

Bottled. Clear amber, perfumy lemon tea aroma. Very sweet, as an Earl Grey tea with too much sugar. Medium bodied with an intense, very driect flavour, but no depth. It’s really interesting, but quite out of balance. I’m really pleased to see them try, and I actually find myself enjoying this beer.

Not a bad beer which is supposedly meant to be a Belgian Trappist styled beer but for me it lacks the body and the strength to even be in the same ball park. The aroma is quite inviting and actually smells strongly of tea mixed with lemon. It certainly does not taste its strength and is easy to drink. I think this beer has potential and I am delighted that Saku have brought out such a beer as with the exception of the Tume and the Porter, most of their beers are incredibly bland. I hope they perservere with this beer and continue to work on the recipe as with a bit of TLC, it could become much better.

Clear amber color, small off-white head, nice lacing. Nose has toffee, dish cleanser and malts. Caramelly, industrial flavor, some lemon candy too. I suppose that this is really brewed with lager yeast. Way too thin for being "real abbey dubbel".
