(swing top bottle, 100cl) Almost black coloured hue with a short beige foamy layer. Sweet and mildly roasty malty aroma with notes of chocolate and Latte macchiato. Moderately sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather flat carbonation. Roasty malty taste with notes of milk coffee and dark chocolate; moderately dry and roasty bitter finish with notes of coffee in the lasting aftertaste. 24.VIII.11

Bügelverschlußflasche (100cl): Deep ruby-amber to black coloured, stable creamy off-white foam: not very dry bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied; lingering dryish toasty finish with a delicate fruitiness; dryish roasty-fruity nose with some caramel underneath. Good.....

Small 0,33l-bottle. Bought at the Leipziger Bierbörse. Looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild, modest sweet-malty. Warming but still mild finish, soft as velvet. Nice.

1 L bottle. Pours clear and deep dark brown with a small light tan head. Mild spiced and roasted malty aroma. Mild spiced and roasted breadish flavoured, lending towards dark rye bread and mild liqourice. Smooth breadish and roasted malty finish with a mild acidic note.

Litre bottle, bought at the brewery, 5.3%. Slow gusher. Clear very dark brown colour. Big stable light brown head. Sweet flavour, slightly roasted. Faint bread note along with a little smoke. Like their pils, I am not sure the smoke is intended, but it works well, especially with this one.
