This Tropical Hazy IPA brewed in collaboration with Caleb Truax punches you right in the face with bursts of juicy citrus and tropical flavors. Perfectly soft and hazy, this is a well-loved brew by many.

Caleb Truax fans know his mantra, “Cut No Corners.” That’s because nothing’s ever been handed to him, from being humbly raised by a single mom to modestly starting his boxing career in night clubs and casinos. Outsiders were surprised, but Caleb’s insiders were not when he scored a majority decision to claim the IBF super-middleweight championship from James DeGale in December 2017. Naturally, Caleb’s signature beer also “Cuts No Corners,” a mandarin orange flavor with notes of coconut and citrus. Like it’s namesake, 8-Count is full body with a smooth finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with a slight orange hue and a white head there dissipates to the edges. Aroma has tropical fruits and sweet citrus with a bit of grass underlying. Flavor has dank and sweet citrus with some mango and a bit of melon coming through.

Pours a hazy, honey-gold, with smallish head. Aroma is kind of muted, with some citrus and tropical fruit. Flavor is more pronounced, with citrus and tropical fruit (coconut) present. Mouthfeel a touch thin. Moderate hop bitterness through the finish.

Canned March 29th 2021. Nothing on the can saying that this is a Hazy IPA.

It pours a hazy dark yellow with a good long lasting head of foam.

Smells of grapefruit and pine, tropical fruit. Blindfolded, I would guess that this is of the NEIPA style.

Loads of tropical fruit flavours, grapefruit, little pine, pineapple...taste is so familiar.

Good mouthfeel, decent beer that I have had before under different labels.

The fresh hops are mainly citrus and resin with a little pineapple and melon. Also some dry grain and pale malt. Flavors are like nose, a little more sweet than bitter with good carbonation. A touch dank too. Decent body and finish, good drinking beer.
