Backlog June 2009. Unclear orange body under a big off-white head. Fruity aroma with banana, caramel and hint of citric fruit. Taste is sweet with caramel, butterscotch, oranges and hint of licorices. Medium body and average aftertaste. Decent.

Swing top bottle. Orange brown color, cloudy. Creamy, almond pinkish head. Toffee, banana and yeast in the aroma. Sweet toffee flavor with lychee and banana. Just a bit spicy. Thin. Decent weizen.

After some years of retirement, this beer is back at the end of 2018. Exclusively at Jumbo supermarkets, so they say. Color: Hazy amber, off-white head. Aroma: Sweetish, wheat malt, yeast and hints of caramel. Taste: Wheat, coriander, cloves, banana, yeast and caramel. Pretty sweet, moderate bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Too sweet and too herbal in my opinion, like many other Grolsch beers.

Bruin bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is ietwat vlak t.o.v. de meeste Duitse donkere Weizen bieren maar is desondanks best goed. Iets van banaan en citrus is in de smaak te herkennen.

Appearance: Cloudy brownish color with a off white head. Nice lace.
Aroma: Malty, wheat, yeast and fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Rich to average carbonation.
Taste: Wheat, yeast, fruity and mild banana.
Overall impression: A bit thin and more fruity notes than the usual banana flavor.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes braunes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, röstmalzig, leicht fruchtig süß. Geschmack hefig, leicht würzig, leicht fruchtig süß.

I like the style, but this example of it is too sweet and too flat. They should look at how the Germans do this.

Schöne hellbraune Farbe mit malzig-süßlichem Geruch. Der Antrunk ist leicht süßlich-malzig, aber relativ laff. Insgesamt bleibt das Bier trotz seiner 6% sehr flach-mild. Das helle Weizen ist aromenstärker! Der Hauptteil ist dominiert von einer mild-hefigen, wässrig-malzigen Note, die zum Nachgeschmack etwas deutlicher wird, aber doch sehr laff bleibt. Auf der Zunge bleibt eine hefig-malzige, leicht herbe, aber immer noch sehr laffe Note.
