Bottle. Light sweet grainy malt aroma. Clear copper with a small white head. Lightly sweet barley malt and grassy flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. I suspect this is an old bottle, and this may have been a much better beer at one time.

Pours a hazy and dark amber beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt and sweetness. The flavor follows the nose closely.

At last I find a kellerbier! 500 ml swingtop bottle. Pours a strange clear copper hue--I can honestly say I’ve never seen a beer quite this shade before--with a medium collapsing white head; leaves a ring of big-bubbly foam. Aroma is yeasty dough, creamed corn, grass, a little clove; a bit of funk comes through after it warms up. Taste is crisp, clean and refreshing; it’s sweet and leaves a slightly bitter dry aftertaste. I’ve never had one of these styles before, but it tastes similar to a Helles or a Dortmunder Export, only it seems better (not a big fan of those styles). For a style of beer that is supposed to be lightly carbonated, this particular example has plenty; I would in fact call it highly carbonated. Similarily, I thought these beers were supposed to be unfiltered. This beer is crystal clear. So, this beer seems to be unrepresentative of the style, but how the fuck should I know? I’ve never had one before until now. Body is pretty thin. Seems pretty tasty to me.

500ml flip top bottle picked up at Lee’s discount liquors. Style 73/73, yea!
Appearance: Pours clear dark brownish amber with a small off-white head and some spotty lacing
Aroma: Semi-sweet malts, toffee and honey
Taste: Toasted malts, toffee, grainy, earthy with a nice mild bitterness in the finish
A nice easy drinking, clean beer. Enjoyed this one.

Dark amber with red highlights that throws up a tall, long lasting white head. Light malt aroma. Lot of bready, bisuity, yeasty notes. Lightly sweet malt flavor profile with just a balance of hops.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 05.2012
Aroma is rather weird and stale with nettles and gooseberry bush. Flavour is weird, stale and somewhat acidic. It has lots of metal, some nettles and hints of nuts and mint. Rather weird stuff, feels more like a dunkel or vienna that is too low on roastiness.

Good lager with a rich flavor and a creamy feel. Transparent, medium amber with a dissipating, sudsy head. Aroma is a bit weak. There’s some musty graininess (pretty sure the bottle is fairly fresh), but there’s also caramel and biscuity malt notes. Some earthiness comes out in the taste. Mildly sweet. Rich mouthfeel.
