500ml stylish swing-top bottle (bb.10.04.2009) bought at Gammel Strand Øl og Vin in Copenhagen, and cellared for a few months. Light brown coloured head resting all the way over an almost jet black body. Fading lacings on the glass. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate and coffee with smooth liquorice beneath. Rich in flavour with lots of roasted, dark chocolate added by an herbal touch. The best part is the lingering bittersweet finish. The warming and full bodied ale gave me an hour of drinking joy at home in Tromsø (14.02.2009).

Bottle. It pours an almost black body, clear looking, with a nice, tan head leaving lacings. Lots of chololate in the aroma, along with roasted malt and some coffee, dark sugar, some alcohol and citrusy hops. Warming and more or less full-bodied in the mouth, with flavors of alcohol, lots of chocolate, coffee, sugar, roasted malt, citrusy hops giving some bitterness, and a touch of coffee-like bitterness. There’s also a quite well hidden aroma and flavor of cooked vegetables I’ve never found in an imperial stout before. Alcohol, chocolate, coffee and a pleasant bitterness in the finish. I could wish for an even fuller body and a little less sugars, but it’s sure a really nice one. (080929)

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Strong and malty aroma. Starts really strong, besomes then a bit weaker. The finish is warming velvet, nice!

Bottled, EBF
Very dark ruby color, small beige head. Light toasted malty aroma. Liquerish palate. Sweetish, licorice, molasses, some burned malts in the finish. Very balanced and enjoyable stout.

bottle, P04-09-07 sampled 17-09-08. about a year old. fantastic aroma, hops dominate but lots of roasted stuff, coffee etc. below that. poured thick dark with a very big brown head. flavor : licorice, coffee, a little alc. burn, brown sugar, faint honey.. so close to perfection it’s almost scary. i loved the total lack of fruityness that spoil so many stouts (imo).

Bottle sving top. Clear dark brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light brown head. Aroma is roasted, caramel, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. Very nice ;o) (260108)
