(Draught at Ölbaren, Copenhagen, 2 Aug 2007) Pitch black colour with brief, frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee and liquorice. Roasted, malty taste with strong, black coffee, liquorice and chocolate. Full bodied, velvet mouthfeel. Lots of hops, well balanced by the chocolatey malts. Very nice one!

2009-04-10, bottle, brewed 040907, 1½ years old, 8-5-9-5-18=45
Dark brown to black color; big creamy head. Very nice aroma, not only with roasted malt, but also fresh and hoppy, with chocolate and maybe cardboard. Good body structure, with an excellent mix of flavors, chocolate, roasted malt and caramel, with traces of liquorice and nice residual sweetness; very good hopping, underneath. Long final, powerful, where the hop can be perceived before the roasted malt. Excellent; a pity that the brewery closed.
2007-12-17, draught at Plan B, 8-4-9-5-18=44
Black color; creamy head. The aroma has a nice cheesy yeast and creamy roasted malt. Wonderful flavor, full malty, but not chewy, with sweet caramel, milk chocolate, creamy overall, with a touch of roasted malt, a bit salty, and with subtle quality hops. The final is well balanced as well, and there is no trace of alcohol. Powerful, excellent!

Black color; thick head. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Good mouthfeel, a bit oily, some sweetness, salty liquorice, roated malts, caramel, rhubarb, some hops… Very good.

Draught at KØ07. Sweet liquorice aroma. Black colour, small light brown head. The flavour is also sweet, almost sugary. Semi-late aftertaste of sweet liquorice. Quite peppery, too, with a little alcohol roughness. Roasted malt bitterness in aftertaste.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Near black. Cocoa aroma. Sweet and somewhat syrupy. Full bodied. Burnt malt together with odd tarry hops. With it’s near extreme sweetness it sticky and raw. Tarry, resiny finish. Unbalanced and too sweet.

Celebrating rating #8100 with the highest unrated Danish beer. Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, and some citrus from the hops. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of chocolate, grapefruit, roasted malt, caramel, sirup, and alcohol, the alcohol notes grows towards the end and leaves a slight burn on the palate. The end is quite bitter with a strong note of grapefruit lingering for a long time. The mouthfeel is a bit like melted chocolate, quite thick.
