Cask at the Wharf, Aalborg, DK. Clear, golden beer with a small, almost non-existing white head. Light malty aroma with a hoppiness that I didn’t like that much. The flavor is mostly bitter, with fruityness and some caramel-notes. Some carbonation is felt in the mouth, and it has a long, dry bitterness in the finish. (060506)

Cask@Charlie, Copenhagen
Hazy golden, low head. Subtle hop and fruit aroma. Solid fruity base, slighly yeasty - bottom of cask - and hints of aromatic hops. Flat of course ;-)

Cask handpull at Pillars of Hercules. Hazy orange colour. Quite good hops on this, I suppose trying to emulate an IPA. Some nice fresh citrus fruit too. Doesn’t drink its strength and lacks oomph if anything

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pale golden. Fruity nose with a hint of sulphur. Sugary with some boiled peas. The mouthfeel is raw and fairly mellow. Reminding of a Sirvenos, a Lithuanian beer brewed partly from peas. There’s some stale hops in the finish. Although it shows no signs of being out of shape, I must say that this is one of the cask ales I’ve enjoyed the least.

2008-11-03, cask conditioned at J.D. Wetherspoon - Shakespear’s Head, London, 6-4-8-4-16=38
Amber color; medium-thin creamy head, persistent. Mild aroma of caramel and hops. Good body strength, with sweet caramel flavor; the hopping is a bit fruity, in the end there is some flavor of macadamia nuts, lightly buttery. The final is pleasant, with nice hops (between a 4 and a 5). Well balanced. Very good.

2003-11-29, cask conditioned, 1st pint of the barrel, 6-4-8-5-15=38
Hazy orange color. The aroma, malty, is still light, but the flavor is very interesting, sweet, bitter and fruity, much more harmonious than the American IPAs. Long strong final.
