--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Deep mahogany colour, small head. Aroma of slivovic and prunes. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Aged mead, prunes and raisins. Long very bitter finish. Despite the onslaught of sweetness, bitterness. alcohol and all around flavour intensity it stays mellow and laid back. Confusing but contemplative fireside snifter.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Coppery black colour with a small off-white foamy head. Aroma is floral, fruity, some mild toffee and mild nectary and dried fruity tones. Flavour is dried fruits, some nectar, mild toffee and some alcohol tones to it. Plummy aftertaste.

Bottle 50 cl. Thick, dark brown pour, opaque with a small, beige head. Nose of overripe, dark fruits - plummy and raisiny with a clearly oxidized edge. Rich, malty body with all of the above. Unfortunately the beer is whiningly sweet making it hard to drink. Warming alcohol finish. Lovely - if not for the cloying sweetness. Under attenuated? 130323
