On tap at BrewDog Waterloo, pours a cloudy murky dark amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt and gentle toasted caramel malt. Flavour is very dry, with toasted bready malt and a hint of caramel. Malty and dry. This isn't close to a scotch ale — Scottish ale maybe. It's fine.

Draft at Brewdog Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium brown colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a crisp, malty, sweet toffee, burnt treacle, light red berry fruits, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Served cool which was probably better for the beer. More like an amber than a Scotch Ale.

Keg at BD Clerkenwell, 05/05/23 (just listed as Kilt Kult, no mention of Berlin or pilot kit). Amber pour with a light beige covering. Nose is caramel wafer, biscuit, grains, light herb, stewed fruits. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, raisins, biscuit, toffee, dried fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for the style.

Old fashioned style Scotch Ale from those far off days when hops never made it North of the border...

Keg at Brewdog Doghouse Edinburgh. Pours hazy reddish-brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of toffee and dried mixed peel. Taste has fruitcake and faint spice. Sweet finish. Good body for the strength.
