12 oz can at home. black color, small tan head. smells earthy, toffee, peppery, grassy, bit soapy, light coffee. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes earthy, grassy, peppery, leathery, herbal, toffee, bit nutty. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of toffee, herbs and earthy notes. nice one, not overly complex, not spectacular, but good to drink.

Draught at the brewery
Very dark brown color. Aroma of dark bread, rye bread, some acetaldehyde too. Dry mouthfeel, dry roasty and dusty malt flavor.
Not bad, but unimpressive.

On tap at Tin Dog, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a reddish rings and a small beige head. Aroma is quite earthy, with Belgian yeast and earthy notes. Flavour is quite earthy, with filthy astringent earthiness upfront and medium Belgian yeast. Quite dirty, but it works well enough. An earthy black saison that has some flaws but is decent.
