As Dubbel Frambozen & bosbessen Good cream-coloured head over red-shot opaque brown beer. Fruity, chocolate, dry wood, cardboard, and lots of dark malts. Fruitiness is present in the nose, if demure. Chocolate with a slight, short acidity, that turns to berries - raspberry in particular - retronasal. Bit sweet, the fruitflavour even enhancing this. Good carbonation, bit slick, medium bodied, with a medium length aftertaste. I think it might benefit from a more generous fruitgift, as well as some more acidity, maybe enhanced by the carbonation. It's still very much tasting Dobbelman. Txs to Frédéric! Was: 6.5/4/7/3.5/13
as Rood Weiler 75cl Huge cream-pink head, irregular, over deep dark brown beer. Wood, plywood and leaves. Raspberry, blueberry, blackberry. Dry-light bitterish, but mainly sweet-malty, almost as milk chocolate with raspberry ganache. Well bodied, very slick to viscous, good carbonation. Bettered version of the berried dubbel sampled earlier. Whereas that lacked a bit of fruit, this time we agreed that what was missing was lactic acid - making it a fruit Oud Bruin with way more complexity.
