This is an incredibly rich and flavourful Baltic porter. It pour’s like the BP oil spill; thick, sticky and black. It’s a viscous mix of flavours with chocolate truffle being the dominant one. There’s burnt caramel, a hint of smoke and a nice balancing blast of port wine.

440ml can. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige to tan head. Chocolately and slightly roasty, dark and caramel malty aroma, hints of dark caramel, coffee with a grainy touch, some dark chocolate, whiffs of liquorice, toffee, a minimally doughy, yeasty touch as well. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, roasty and slightly chocolately, dark malty, minimally spicy, notes of caramel, dark caramel, some coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, toffee. Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, foamy, almost creamy, soft carbonation. Well balanced, harmonious, homogeneous, focussed, not overly intense, not unnecessarily heavy - good.
