Can to lager glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two finger khaki foamy head which took it's time to dissipate then leave some light lace around the glass.
Aroma: earthy sweetness, toasted grains, sweet and floral tones of the rye; dark bread, cocoa powder and a little bit of dark coffee
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine malty, earthy and semi-sweet cocoa-like quality; finishes semi-crisp with a touch of dryness through toasted grains
Texture: medium bodied with a great sessionability about it; some smoothness to it with a light dark roasty tone touching down on a little bit of nicking on the tongue but nothing overbearing
Overall: pretty nicely done Schwarzbier I'd be very willing to come back to.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear brown with a somewhat transient tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate but there's a Tmavy note. Med body. Malty but fairly dry. Moderately bitter. Flavor matches the aroma. Good schwarz.

On tap at Old Town Pub in Bordentown, NJ. Barely translucent dark brown pour. Small tan head. Subtle roasted malt aroma hints at dark chocolate. Flavor is dark and malty. Notes of chocolate, black currants, caramel and piney hops. Remarkably smooth and flavorful. Another winner from the crew at Schilling!

Can, from Beer Boutique, Brooklyn. Clear dark brown with copper-red highlights, foamy beige head that dissipated rather fast leaving nice lacing behind, roasted malt aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt-caramel taste, toffee, thin smooth body, long medium bitter caramel finish. Very smooth and satisfactory!

16 oz. can. Aroma is mild coffee, roast, chocolate. . Flavor is spot on the German style, mild coffee, roast, ash, and a elevated chocolate new wants throughout the sip. Ends with a moderate roast and chocolate. Quite good.
