Brazilian wheat wine flavoured with peanuts and cocoa, from a can bought at Beerdome, shared with Craftmember. Pale yellowish beige, loose and open, thin head, quickly reduced to almost nothing; near clear ruddy-mahogany bronze robe with vermillion glow. Aroma indeed betraying strong peanut in its purest and most natural form, next to hints of hard caramel, toffee, brown rum, chestnut purée, candied cherry, cocoa indeed but not yet processed into chocolate, fig syrup, cola, tonka, pistachio. Sweet onset, lots of residual sugariness, even a bit sticky, with fruity hints of fig, yellow raisin and peach, with clear peanut (even slightly peanut butter) flavour coming up early; softish carb, full oily body, vinous, with wheat slickness but no sourishness or breadiness. Caramelly and toffeeish core, remaining soaked in peanut, with an actual nuttiness popping up retronasally in the end; I remain in doubt about the origins of this nuttiness, could come from those peanuts but also from malts – in any case all these flavours match very well. Hop bitterness remains discreet and limited to a late accent somewhere in a brown-rum-coloured, warming finish, where the peanut further spreads; meanwhile the cocoa has passed by as well but only subtly so, with a sweet, on this case almost tonka bean-like element gracing the finish. Sweet and desserty, exotic barleywine variant but far less peanut butter-like than expected and instead letting the peanuts speak naturally, as in no other beer I ever came across; quite unique in that sense, but also very well made. I am not sure if this type of beers do well in the climate of Brazil, but I enjoyed it very much at another latitude, in any case.

Clear brown colour with quick fading head. Aroma of almond fondant and peanut. It's weird. Too perfumed.
