27/1/2023. Cask at the 14th Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Pours clear dark amber bronze with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, dried fruit, biscuit, chalky edge. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and body. Average to soft carbonation. Dry bittersweet finish. Pretty decent.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a cloudy burgundy with a small cream head and good lacing. Malts and berry fruits combine pleasantly in the aroma. @In the mouth it is slightly sweet with a creamy texture. It’s chewy as well with red wine gums springing to mind. More conventional flavours are raspberries and grains with a hint of ginger. All leading to a fruity finish. This is rather nice.
