Said to be hoppier than a hopping mad hopi, our rather good Doctor Okell's takes the 200 year old tradition of the strong India Pale Ale to its ultimate, thanks to one of Dr Mike's finest brewing moments...
Doctor Okell's is an extremely light coloured beer with a surprising full bodied taste. The sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. That gives the finished beer an over all roundness with very spicy lemony notes and a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness.
Ingredients: All pale ale malt, hops, 1st Fuggles and First Gold, 2nd Hallertau and Saaz, 3rd Cascade and Styrian Goldings.

500ml bottle. Clear, pale orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy aroma has notes of gooseberry, other berries and stonefruit, a minimally bitter and herbal touch, biscuity malt basis. Taste is minimally sweet biscuit malty, minimally bitter hoppy overtones with a touch of gooseberry, lemon biscuit finish; slightly watery, rather flat carbonation.

Aroma of grapefruit, citrus zest, sweet pale malts, decent amount of zest here
Taste as expected from the aroma, plenty of bitter citrus zest, pithy grapefruit, fairly sweet pale malts, lemony zest, malts let the hops thorough, clean fresh flavour
Palate - soft carb, medium body, good bitter sweet balance. Finish as main flavour, bitter zest, clean finish
Overall - Well made beer, clean, quaffable, easy drinking, very fresh

500ml bottle from B&M, Shrewsbury. Wasn’t expecting that aroma.. smells exactly like hop fields! Pours gold with lasting white head. Taste is afternoon brewery aromas, hop fields, lemon, citrus and raw hops. Wasn’t expecting much but this is very pleasant to drink.

Bottle from B&M. Light haze. Golden. Thin, clingy, white head. Sweet malt. Light, grassy hop. A little butteriness. Taste has biscuit sweetness first off, then grassy dry. Palate has a light oiliness. Finish is grassy bitter. Decent enough.

500ml bottle from B&M. Bottled. Hazy light golden beer with a slim white head. The aroma is sweet with spicy hops and malt. The flavor is sweet with crisp malt, and citrus spicy hops. Very drinkable.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, almost no head, clear lightish gold colour, light citrusy and tropical fruits aroma with some bready malt, light herbal grapefruit flavour with a malty backbone. Nice and drinkable but not too exciting.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Erzengel for this bottle! Slightly hazy golden. Aroma is a bit skunky and hoppy with a bit of malt and a caramel hint. Flavor has a bit of maltiness, slightly stale, with mild fruitiness and a bitterish hoppy finish. Medium-bodied.
