500ml bottle. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark brown head. BA supported, sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of chocolate sauce, dark chocolate, sherry, marsala, caramel, some vanilla, treacle, maple syrup, a touch of blueberry, plum butter. Taste is BA supported, sweet-ish, chocloately, dark malty, slightly roasty, dark malty, sweet-ish, caramel malty, notes of sherry, marsala, dark chocolate, maple syrup, caramel, some vanilla, Bourbon, blueberry; minimally warming, alcoholic finish.
Viscous texture, velvety, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, soft carbonation.
Very nice, sadly slightly ephemeral sherry flavours, sweet, harmonious and homogeneous, "uncomplicated" base beer despite its enormous complexity - good.

Bottle from kihoskh, 12.5% pours pitch black, very black, crazy black, no head. aroma is thick vanilla, roasted malts, toffee, barrel aged booze, very much a dessert beer aroma, but not overly sweet and frosting ish' like many pastry stouts. flavor is roasted malts, licorice, vanilla, sherry, wood, many more subltle flavors like plums, dried dark fruits. Aroma had too much vanilla for my taste, but flavor is near perfect, powerful, insanely complex and very well balanced and smooth. palate and mouthfeel is oily thick, very nice. overall a very well tasting very full flavored very full bodied beer that have a pretty awesome aroma which is the worst part of it, only because the other parts are really, really, really good.
