Crushable & fruity, this American Pale Ale with lots of Citra and Talus (and a bit more Citra) was brewed with 9.3% Grüner Veltiner grape juice from brewer Thom's brother-in-law's vineyard in Kasterlee: De Zwaluw!

Draught Medium, dense yellowish head, stable over still yellow-golden beer. Grapes and C-hops - excellent combination as it turns out. Lunaria, nectarine, white grapes, almost as muscat grapes, chalk. Initial bitterness surprises, putting one on the wrong foot, as then the (sweet) grapejuice kicks in. Hops blend in, giving extra aroma and gradually less and less bitterness. Certain fruit filling in; not very carbonated feel, quite slick, even filmy. Nice, succeeded combination, balance is excellent. I just wish for some more outspoken flavours from both.
